Keep Koori Kids Smoke Free

in

The aim of the project is:

The project covers nine local government areas across Western Sydeny and the Blue Mountains and aims to reduce the exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) for Aboriginal children as well as their parents, carers and community. Parents and carers will be given information and tools to make their home smoke free.

A strategy that is used is the development of a ‘smoke free home’ register and provision of associated information and resources to be distributed via a starter kit. Those that are on the register can choose to receive support from an Aboriginal Health worker over the phone.

If they agree to they will also be surveyed at 6 and 12 months.
