Around Australia there has been some excellent work done in helping
Indigenous people to quit smoking. Because this work has been spread
around the country, opportunities for others to learn from this
experience can be limited. Our aim is to encourage the sharing of
knowledge and resources and to provide networks through which this can
be achieved. We are currently doing this by:
- National Indigenous Tobacco Control
Project Register contains profiles of projects which are running
throughout Australia. Here you can read about other projects and also
register your own project, as well as make contact with others working
in the area.
- Running a series of Indigenous tobacco
control discussion workshops at major conferences.
- running an online Indigenous tobacco control network on our
website whereby members can exchange information about their work and
contribute to our website. We will also keep our members up to date
about any other developments in tobacco control.
Join our Tobacco Control Network - Collecting resources, publications, project profiles, personal
stories and links to other organisations to build capacity in Indigenous
Tobacco Control. Do you have a story to tell? Then why not share it?
