National Indigenous Tobacco Network

Around Australia there has been some excellent work done in helping Indigenous people to quit smoking. Because this work has been spread around the country, opportunities for others to learn from this experience can be limited. Our aim is to encourage the sharing of knowledge and resources and to provide networks through which this can be achieved. We are currently doing this by:

  • running an online Indigenous tobacco control network on our website whereby members can exchange information about their work and contribute to our website. We will also keep our members up to date about any other developments in tobacco control.
    Join our Tobacco Control Network

  • Hosting a regular Indigenous tobacco control teleconference so that our community can yarn about their work
    Join our Tobacco Teleconference

  • Collecting resources, publications, project profiles, personal stories and links to other organisations to build capacity in Indigenous Tobacco Control. Do you have a story to tell? Then why not share it. Click on the link below to contribute to our website.
    Share your information

In the future CEITC plans to host an Indigenous Tobacco Control workshop/conference where training will be offered to encourage Aboriginal Health Workers to become tobacco control leaders in their community.
