Raise awareness about the effects and harms of Alcohol and Drug (including tobacco) misuse

6 - 10 week session plans that specifically target Indigenous youth

What in particular helped the project?: 

Resources i.e. VISUALS such as handouts for participants to keep, diagrams of specific drugs, pictures/diagrams of healthy organs and organs that have been affected by tobacco, drugs and alcohol -  Diagrams / pictures have an impact that raises the participants awareness and knowledge about drugs and alcohol & also creates discussion and interest in the sessions

What in particular didn't work so well?: 

Lack of human resources (funding available) to cater to the demand

Summary of Findings and Recommendations: 

Referral intake is increasing in our clinical area - to alternative therapies such as our flower essence and kinesiology

Project Evaluation: 

As per our funding agreement all our projects need to be evaluated and our findings are generally by numbers of participants per session or schools or educational agencies engaged

Our services brochure is currently (Aug 2009) a work in progress
