Interactive Display Tobacco Control Stall at the:

  • Kwinana Recreation Centre Expo
  • Kwinana Festival
  • Kwinana NAIDOC week
  • Beat Ball activitiy night for young people
  • Closing the Gap Movie Night

Partner Organisations

The Rockingham Kwinana Divison of General Practice will work in partnership with SMPHU and will establish a culturally secure smoking cessation service

What in particular helped the project?

Relationships and communication with community and also supporting other service providers' activites. Partnership meetings with local service providers, state agencies and community members

What in particular didn't work so well?

If there was no communcation and trust between the community and a particular service provider, activties did not work so good.

Project Evaluation

We will be evaluating although at the moment we are still in the development stage

  • Smoke free pledge cards
  • Insert smoking fact sheet into Journey of Living With Dibetes program
  • Stages of changes poster / service prvider prompt card to ask clients on what stage in their life are they up to in quitting smoking
