As of December 1, 2008 Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is now available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders through the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme (PBS). Individuals are able to obtain 2 courses of NRT of up to 12 weeks duration per year on a prescription provided by their doctor.
